Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please review our cancellation timelines, rescheduling guidelines, and refund process.

This policy applies to all tour packages, travel services, and related bookings made with Desi Discoveries.

1 Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only after the advance/booking amount is received.

The booking amount is strictly non-refundable, as it covers administrative charges, service blocking, and vendor commitments.

2 Cancellation by Customer

If the customer cancels the trip, refunds (excluding the initial non-refundable booking amount) will apply as per the schedule below based on written confirmation:

  • 45–30 days before departure: 100% refund of the remaining balance.
  • 15–29 days before departure: 60% refund of the remaining balance.
  • 7–14 days before departure: 30% refund of the remaining balance.
  • Less than 7 days before departure: No refund.
  • No show on departure date: No refund.

Note: Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 7–10 working days of written cancellation confirmation.

3 Cancellation by Desi Discoveries

If Desi Discoveries cancels the trip due to operational reasons, regulatory restrictions, or unavoidable circumstances, the customer will be entitled to a 100% refund of all amounts paid, including the booking amount.

4 Force Majeure & Unforeseen Circumstances

Desi Discoveries will not be liable for cancellations, delays, alterations, or extra expenses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as natural hazards, accidents, landslides, bad weather, heavy snowfall, rain, machinery breakdown, political unrest, strikes, bandhs, government orders, or pandemics.

If a trek, trip, or activity cannot be completed due to the reasons mentioned above, no refund will be given. Travelers will bear any extra expenses caused by these unforeseen events (e.g., additional stay, food, transport).

In such cases, alternative arrangements or credit notes/travel vouchers may be offered at the company’s sole discretion.

5 Third-Party Bookings (Flights/Trains)

Desi Discoveries is only responsible for the land/tour package booked through us. We are not liable to refund, compensate, or cover losses for any independent flight, train, or bus bookings cancelled due to trip changes, delays, or cancellations.

6 Amendments & Rescheduling

Date changes or rescheduling requests must be made at least 10 days before departure.

All rescheduling is subject to availability and vendor policies. Rescheduling or amendment charges may apply.
